What Is AI Doing to Us? Rethinking the Human Value of Business
Artificial intelligence is transforming how organizations think, work, and make decisions—but what happens when the pursuit of efficiency comes at the expense of human judgment, institutional knowledge, and the relationships that drive business success?
Drawing on more than 50 years of research on technological and business transformation through The Myers Report, Jack Myers challenges media financial leaders to look beyond what AI can automate and consider what it cannot replace. While AI makes efficiency gains easier to measure, it can also obscure the value of experienced judgment, customer trust, organizational culture, and human accountability. This session explores the strategic and financial trade-offs of AI adoption, challenging leaders to rethink how their organizations define value, measure success, and balance technological advancement with the uniquely human capabilities that sustain long-term business performance.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Evaluate AI’s impact on leadership and decision-making by examining how artificial intelligence is reshaping workplace dynamics, organizational priorities, and value creation in media finance.
- Assess the trade-offs between efficiency and long-term value by identifying the risks AI-driven strategies may pose to intangible business assets, including customer trust, institutional knowledge, organizational culture, and experienced expertise.
- Identify where human judgment remains essential to support sound financial decision-making, maintain accountability, and guide strategic AI adoption.
