Why did your company decide to sponsor FEI Tampa Bay Chapter?

I've had the privilege of working with outstanding accounting and finance leaders and candidates all across the United States over the past few years. While that work will continue, I felt it was essential to invest more deeply in the community right here at home. That's why I'm so proud to sponsor FEI Tampa Bay and become more involved with our accounting and finance leaders within the Tampa Bay chapter of FEI.

What are you looking forward to most about being involved in FEI Tampa Bay?

I am a relationship recruiter and enjoy the ability to interact with key leaders of the accounting and finance community.

How does your company provide value to finance executives in the Tampa Bay area?

I specialize in identifying and recruiting top-tier talent for critical, often confidential, roles within the finance and accounting sectors. I partner with CFOs, CAOs, and VPs of Accounting, Finance, Internal Audit, Financial Reporting, and Tax to deeply understand their specific needs—from the ideal cultural fit to the precise skill sets required. My approach is proactive and consultative; I don't rely on job postings. Instead, I directly engage with high-caliber candidates who are not actively seeking new opportunities to fulfill my clients' most essential staffing requirements and exceed their hiring needs. My more than 25+ recommendations on LinkedIn speak to my abilities as an executive recruiter.

Tell us a little bit about your career, educational/professional background and how you got to where you are today.

My career in recruiting began as a generalist in Chicago. In 2001, I moved to Tampa and found my passion, shifting my focus exclusively to accounting and finance search. After gaining valuable experience at two of the industry's largest staffing firms, I founded Pryor & Associates 16 years ago. This journey has allowed me to build deep relationships and deliver specialized talent to a diverse client base, including publicly traded Fortune 100 and 500 companies, companies navigating an IPO, and privately held and PE-backed organizations across many different industries. I also work with a few public accounting firms specialized in serving high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. I am proud to say that I've helped to build tax, internal audit, and financial reporting departments at some of our most prominent local companies over the years.

What do you love most about working with finance professionals?

They challenge me, both directly and indirectly, to be a better version of myself, as the Accounting and Finance professionals I’ve been fortunate to work with are professional, ethical, methodical, and they work with a high degree of integrity and standards.

What is your best networking tip?

Instead of approaching a networking event or opportunity with a focus on how it will benefit you, consider what value you can bring to the conversation and how you can contribute to it. People remember those who help them, and this authentic approach is far more effective and sustainable than simply collecting business cards.

What are some of your personal hobbies outside of work?

I love to explore new places and experience new cultures through travel. My passion for movement extends to my daily routine as well. I stay active with long walks, centering my mind with yoga, and building strength in Bar Method classes—a nod to my roots in ballet.

Beyond my personal pursuits, I cherish the time I spend with friends and family. And, of course, there's always my beloved 10-pound Maltese, Cody, by my side for every adventure, big or small.
