FEI Tampa Bay Chapter Volunteer Day at Metropolitan Ministries

Metropolitan Ministries offers comprehensive services for at-risk and homeless families in underserved and impoverished communities throughout Tampa Bay. FEI Tampa Bay Chapter has partnered with MetMin to provide 20 volunteers for a three-hour shift on Friday, May 3rd, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. FEI Volunteer Day is open to all members, sponsors, and friends of the Chapter. Event details may be viewed below. We hope you will join us to support this worthwhile organization!

EVENT DETAILS
  • Dress Code:  Please be sure to wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and a shirt with sleeves (jeans and short sleeve t-shirts are great; no tank tops).
  • Location:  Metropolitan Ministries main campus at 120 E. Ross Avenue, Tampa, FL 33602
  • Parking:  You can park in Metropolitan Ministries’ large parking lot at 120 E Ross Avenue, Tampa, FL  33602, or across the street at 2001 N. Florida Avenue.  
  • Check-In:  Go to the Volunteer Engagement Center located at 120 E Ross Avenue near the center of the building with the green awning.  
  • Personal Items:  It is best to leave purses and electronics at home or out of sight in your trunk or another secure location while volunteering.

WHAT TO EXPECT

As a Mid-Day Volunteer, you will support MetMin’s mission by assisting in one of the following areas (to be assigned at the event based on campus needs for the day):  
  • Outreach:  Help families choose food and clothes for their families.
  • Clothing Warehouse/Thrift Store:  Accept donations, sort, and choose donated items for our thrift store and Outreach department.  
  • Kitchen:  Clean the kitchen, prep, cook, and serve food to our residents and community partners. For ages 12+ only.
  • The minimum age to volunteer for this shift is 8+ if accompanied by an adult, or 14 without an adult.
