About Jim
Jim is a dual degree holder from Cleveland State University, where he earned his BBA in Accounting and his MBA and later his JD at the University of Miami. Jim is the founding and current Executive Director of the graduate program in accountancy at UC San Diego Rady School of Management.
In addition, to serving on the SDFEI board, Jim serves on the CSU Foundation Board Executive Committee, Accounting Advisory Board, and the Weston Ideation Lab Advisory Board.

A little about Jim's travels
Prior to joining UCSD, Jim worked in the public accounting profession. Jim and his family were quite mobile. They lived and practiced in Cleveland, Miami, Lexington, Des Moines, Detroit, Warsaw, and Johannesburg.   Settling down in San Diego has been a tremendous experience, even with the cloud of Covid getting in the way from time to time.

What he loves about FEI and FEI SD Events
Jim loves engaging and connecting with his students and fellow faculty! Jim also really loves engaging with business and finance leaders in San Diego. He has found maintaining a pulse on the quick pace of change in the professional world is hard to do solely on campus. Jim has found the FEI SD members are connected to this business community and it allows him to stay current. The speakers, leaders in finance, and our community have been a great way to accelerate his introduction into the San Diego community.
Jim continues to maintain his CPA status and learn about the significant changes in the profession as a user of the virtual learning and conferences offered by FEI. His most recent event was a two-day virtual conference that Jim found outstanding. When factoring in the cost, the value proposition was significant, making an entire year of dues fully recouped!

Jim enjoys introducing professionals interested in joining FEI, especially at our social events, at Fairbanks Country Club. With the Covid restrictions lifting, Jim expects more professionals to look at FEI for a source of learning, maintaining connectivity with area professionals, and simply personal and professional comradery.
