Committee on Corporate Reporting (CCR) Quarterly Overview

The Committee on Corporate Reporting (CCR) held its quarterly meeting in Dallas on September 29 and 30. The committee brought together approximately 45 of the fortune 100 controllers and their finance staff from across the country to discuss important financial reporting matters and recent activities of the SEC, FASB and PCAOB. The Revenue Recognition and Leases Working Groups met to discuss recent developments including practice issues experienced by members. Larry Smith, FASB Board Member, joined the meetings and discussed recent FASB activities including its recently-issued agenda consultation paper, the future of the Revenue Recognition Working Group, lease accounting implementation issues, the direction of the government assistance and tax disclosure projects, simplification efforts and disclosure effectiveness. Another major topic of discussion was around non-GAAP measures and recent activities of the SEC to address inappropriate use of non-GAAP measures. As one of the highlights of the event, the President of NABA, Jina Etienne, spoke with CCR members about moving the diversity needle within their own organizations and how NABA could collaborate with FEI moving forward.
