FEI Chicago Chapter Receives Outstanding Chapter and Diversity and Inclusion Awards at FEI Leadership Summit

by FEI Daily Staff

FEI Chicago accepted the award for Most Outstanding Chapter in Tier 5 and "Disruptive Thinking at the FEI Leadership Summit."

Each year FEI recognizes Chapters that go above and beyond the ordinary by presenting the Outstanding Chapter Achievement Award. These Chapters embody all of FEI’s values and consistently raise the bar. The Chicago Chapter is proud to announce that at this week’s Leadership Summit in Colorado, Chicago Chapter President Otis Usher and other Chapter Officers accepted the award for Most Outstanding Chapter in Tier 5. This tier represents Chapters with more than 300 members.

The Chicago Chapter also received FEI’s Diversity and Inclusion Award.  The FEI Diversity & Inclusion Champion Award recognizes FEI Members and Chapters who are diversity leaders that understand, promote and appreciate Diversity & Inclusion.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Chapter and job well done to all who helped to make these awards possible!

"Disruptive Thinking at the FEI Leadership Summit" On May 23-24, FEI held its annual Summit in Colorado Springs. 450 FEI Members were assaulted (in a good way!) with examples of success through Innovation and Reinvention. It’s no longer the small vs. the big, rather, it’s the agile eating the lunch of the complacent. Global sourcing and mobility have completely changed the game. And winning takes creativity and speed over financial resources. Consider the mighty cronut – it’s a new type of donut.  What’s the primary difference? Instead of charging 50 cents for the same thing you can get anywhere, they charge $5 for style and flavor options that are unique. TNT wanted to advertise drama, so found a quiet square in a small town in Europe. Check out the link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=316AzLYfAzw. It’s cute. Cheap. Associates TNT with drama. Oh, and has been seen 54 million times on YouTube. We saw dozens of these very colorful success stories, and received some good ideas for getting started. Interested in sitting on one or more Boards? Concerned about Cybersecurity? Health Plan Options? So were our members, and at Summit, they were able to get into all of those issues with top notch leaders, and more.

Think Big. Start Small. Scale Fast. That’s what our member-driven organization is all about. Oh, and just in case you haven’t made plans for April 23-25, 2017, we understand that the Anaheim Marriott (CA) will be the happening place to be.
