Alex Marre is a Regional Economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond based in Baltimore. He monitors national and regional economic conditions in Maryland, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia to inform the public about the state of our economy. He also leads the Richmond Fed’s broadband infrastructure and digital inclusion research and outreach efforts. Alex has expertise in rural economic development with a decade of experience at the U.S. Department of Agriculture prior to joining the Richmond Fed. His research and commentary has appeared in The New York Times, the Baltimore Business Journal, and other media outlets.
