John McWhorter has been COO at Baylor Scott & White since 2015, but he has more than 20 years of experience with the system and its predecessor organizations. He leads all operations for an organization with $9 billion in revenue; more than 6.6 million patient encounters annually; more than 1,000 care sites; 48 hospitals; 7,800 physicians; and 47,000 employees. In his previous role as President of flagship Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, he oversaw a 1,065-bed not-for-profit academic medical center. John previously held leadership positions with Methodist Hospitals of Dallas and St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, AR.
