Mr. Ahmad Goree

Ahmad Goree joined the U.S. Small Business Administration in June of 2010 and currently is the Lead Economic Development Specialist in the Dallas/Ft. Worth District Office. As the Lead Economic Development Specialist, Ahmad serves as Chief of the Marketing and Outreach Division, where he leads a team of specialists that works on building and maintaining collaborative partnerships with small business stakeholders such as economic development practitioners, chambers of commerce, business associations, educational institutions and civic and community organizations.
 
In January 2013, SBA also named Ahmad as its Public Information Officer (PIO) for the Dallas/Ft. Worth district.  As PIO, Ahmad is the official spokesperson for the district and works closely with media outlets on promoting SBA programs and services throughout 72 counties. 
 
Ahmad’s outreach with the SBA has helped generate over $5.7 billion to small businesses and creating over 40,000 jobs in the DFW area.
 
Prior to SBA, Ahmad worked as a Senior Legislative Aide for Business and Commerce in the Office of State Senator Royce West, where he was responsible for working with Texas state agencies in meeting their HUB goals and increasing expenditures with African – American owned firms in the program. Additionally, while working for the Senator, Ahmad worked on legislation that created the second building at University of North Texas at Dallas and helped pass the bill that instituted the UNT-Dallas College of Law. 
 
Ahmad was featured as a Fox 4 News Hometown Hero and received letters for his community engagement from former President Barack Obama and Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
 
Ahmad was born and raised in Dallas where he attended H. Grady Spruce High School. He graduated from Jarvis Christian College with a degree in History and is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Ahmad earned his Masters in Political Science from Dallas Baptist University.  He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Urban Planning and Public Policy at the University of Texas at Arlington.
