Harriss Currie was elected as the VP of Finance, Treasurer, and Chief Financial Officer of Luminex Corporation in October 2003. Since joining the company in November 1998, Harriss has served in the capacities of Controller, Treasurer and Acting Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Luminex, he was employed as the Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Treasurer of SpectraCell Laboratories from 1993 to 1998, where he also served as Vice President of Finance for two subsidiary companies. Harriss earned his B.B.A. from Southwestern University in 1986 and his M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin in 1992. Prior to returning to school for his M.B.A., he was a certified public accountant with Deloitte & Touche LLP.
