Brent Wertz

Chef Wertz is a highly recognized, 5 star & 5 diamond Food and Beverage Executive with over 25 years of quality-driven culinary experience, which includes 15 years of beer beverage related industry experience (Guinness, Anheuser-Busch, Yuengling).  His culinary feats include acting as the key consultant for the book "Great Food Great Beer," supported by Anheuser-Busch  Chef Wertz was featured several TV shows to include the PBS special "Historic Chefs of America," a sequel to the PBS series "Historic Hotels of America," "Thrill to Grill" chef series, several episodes of the Food Channel's "Follow that Food," and has also been featured in major daily newspapers, publications, magazines. He is a Certified Executive Chef and a member of the American Academy of Chefs.
 
Chef Wertz served as Vice President of Food and Beverage for Kingsmill Resort and Spa for 9yrs while creating a line of Budweiser Genuine Sauces that include BUD Barbeque and Beech wood Smoked Barbecue sauces.   Recently (2012) he dove back into the sauce creation realm collaborating with D.G.Yuengling Brewery, oldest and largest American Brewer, releasing a line of BBQ and wing sauces as well as spices and several rubs, Utz Chips, and a few co-branded products.
 
Chef Wertz then joined Nemacolin Woodlands Resort as Vice President of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef in 2010. Nemacolin Woodlands Resort was recognized as the sole new property worldwide in 2011 to receive the Forbes 5 star as part of his first year’s charge.  Chef Wertz oversaw the dining experience of fourteen food and beverage outlets including the Five Star, Five Diamond Lautrec and Four Star, 5 Diamond Aqueous Steak House. Guests experience his current approach to hospitable service and creative culinary talents as well as his unparalleled enthusiasm for everything Food and Beverage.
 
Mr. Wertz then became part of the Corporate Food and Beverage team for Gold Key/PHR Hotels and Resorts enabling the company to create and scale a universal operating platform to 7 hotels and 18 restaurants.  Mr. Wertz was responsible for leading all food and beverage initiates and innovations while developing, installing, and assuring compliance of all operations to a regimented set of standards. 
 
Heading to the Sweetest Place on Earth, Mr. Wertz was asked to administer all aspects of the food and beverage operations as Managing Director of Food and Beverage at Hershey Entertainment Company in Hershey Pa by developing and implementing strategic plans necessary for short and long-term growth and profitability of all FB operations.
 
Now situated in Tampa, Yuengling has named Mr. Wertz Vice President of Hospitality. Brent brings 30 years of extensive experience in food and beverage to create, build, and operate a new dynamic Entertainment Complex at the Tampa Brewery.  The Campus will include a significant F&B component as well as a 180-room hotel and conference center.
