Perception IS Reality – Influencing How Others See You and Delivering Powerful Presentations

This event will be followed by a networking reception and evening presentation entitled "Strategic Marketing and Messaging From the C-Suite" (5:30 PM - 8:00 PM) - Register separately by clicking here.

Executive Presence is an important factor in being perceived as a leader. In fact, a study by the Center for Talent Innovation suggests that Executive Presence counts for 26% of what it takes to get ahead in today’s global marketplace.

What is Executive Presence? There is no single, agreed-upon definition – though the term generally refers to how one conveys confidence and authority through the elements of physical demeanor -- such as voice, dress, mannerisms, and more.

In February’s professional development session, speaker Doris Pickering, founder of Silicon Valley Speaks,  will focus on Executive Presence and will cover the following:

  • Through an interactive exercise, helping attendees understand specifics about how they are perceived – which impacts how they perceive themselves
  • Specific steps and best practices related to improving Executive Presence – including ways to increase confidence, connect with audiences, and increase the ability to influence others
  • Strengthening Executive Presence as part of delivering powerful presentations – including specific do’s and don’ts for CFOs and senior finance/accounting professionals
