Behind the Scenes Look at SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC)

Welcome back FEI Sacramento! As we launch our new year, come and enjoy a sneak peek of the new SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC) prior to public opening currently set for November 2021. Located in the historic power station, overlooking Matsui Waterfront Park along the Sacramento River, MOSAC is strategically positioned to be a leader in STEAM innovation, employment and literacy. Take a tour of some of the available exhibits, hear how this 10-year vision came to fruition in the midst of the pandemic and experience a presentation in the new planetarium.
  • Learn how the City of Sacramento, SMUD and the Powerhouse Science Center partnered on a multi-year effort to transform the 114-year-old historic power station.
  • Understand the challenges of financing the $50M project and surprise advantages the pandemic presented.
  • Discover how MOSAC will be a dynamic epicenter for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) education and an anchor point for Sacramento’s revitalized waterfront.

This will be an indoor event. We encourage participants to be vaccinated to attend events. FEI will be following all local guidelines and mandates and requires attendees to sign a waiver to attend in person events.

*Individuals who register as a Qualified Prospective Member must meet FEI's Membership Qualifications.
