A CFO’s Guide to Efficient and Effective Contract Review

A CFO is often expected to review business contracts on behalf of his or her employer, regardless of whether the contract will also be reviewed by counsel.  By attending this session, you will learn to identify certain key legal provisions of basic business contracts and how to avoid various pitfalls and “traps for the unwary” that can be potentially costly to a business.  Being able to identify key legal provisions will help expedite your review of the basic contracts that are the subject of the session and facilitate the negotiation process.  The session will also address the benefits of using well-vetted templates for certain basic business contracts.

The session will focus on the following basic business contracts:

  • Nondisclosure Agreements (mutual and unilateral)
  • Memoranda of Understanding
  • Letters of Intent
  • License Agreements (inbound)
  • Real Estate Leases
  • Equipment Leases
  • Employment Agreements
