Austin Chapter February 2022 Breakfast Meeting - "Dealing with Difficult People and Difficult Conversations"

What makes it hard to get along with some people? Why are some conversations stressful to initiate? How can you better handle conflict in the workplace?

FEI Austin is pleased to welcome UT's Dr. Art Markman as he describes in "Dealing with Difficult People and Difficult Conversations" the characteristics of people and situations that can make engagements difficult and then explores specific strategies to help those interactions go better in the future.

COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS

FEI Austin is committed to ensuring that our chapter can continue to have the safest events possible in the face of the current COVID-19 pandemic. We are continually monitoring the latest guidance provided by federal, state and local health authorities. To that end, we will be implementing the following safety protocols as per the guidance of Austin Public Health at our upcoming events until further notice:
  • All vaccinated attendees are asked to wear a mask throughout the event, except when actively eating or drinking
  • All those who are UNvaccinated, only partially vaccinated, or in a high-risk category are asked to wear a mask at all times (except when eating or drinking) OR to not attend
  • Attendees will be asked to sign an FEI Austin COVID-19 waiver (either online during registration or at the event) before entering the event space
  • Additional space will be provided between seats at each breakfast table
  • Attendees should try to maintain adequate social distancing, frequently wash or sanitize hands, refrain from hugging or shaking hands, and cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or an elbow
  • Sanitizer will be provided at various points throughout the registration and meeting area
  • Attendees are encouraged to stay home if they have recently come into contact with someone with COVID-19 or if they are feeling unwell, including experiencing the following symptoms: fever or chills, cough, shortness or breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.

We thank you for your cooperation with these guidelines!
