Laura Semple

Laura Semple is a government contracts attorney at Smith Pachter McWhorter, PLC in Tysons, VA. Ms. Semple has extensive experience counseling government contractors on cost and pricing issues and resolving claims relating to disallowed costs, CAS noncompliances, and cost impacts for cost accounting practice changes. Ms. Semple counsels government contractors on compliance with mandatory disclosure obligations, incurred cost submissions, and other government reporting requirements. Her government contracts experience also includes litigation of claims before the Boards of Contract Appeals and U.S. Court of Federal Claims involving issues such as delay damages, defective specifications, equitable adjustments, and constructive changes. Ms. Semple is an adjunct professor for the Masters in Procurement Law Program at the George Washington University Law School, teaching the Cost & Pricing course and co-teaches the Government Contracts Cost Allowability course for Federal Publications. Ms. Semple is the Vice-Chair of the ABA Section of Public Contract Law’s Accounting, Cost, and Pricing Committee and serves as Secretary of the Board of Contract Appeals Bar Association.
