Jenna Summer

Jenna Summer is a managing director in the Accounting for Income Taxes Group in KPMG LLP (KPMG)’s Washington National Tax practice. She has been with KPMG for over 13 years and focuses on accounting for income taxes under both U.S. GAAP and IFRS.

 

She provides services to public and nonpublic domestic and multinational clients in a variety of industries, including but not limited to the following activities:

  • Income tax provision preparation, review and audit under both U.S. GAAP and IFRS including tax accounting considerations of the realizability of deferred tax assets, accounting for uncertainty in income taxes, accounting for investments in subsidiaries, accounting for the tax effects of business combinations, and tax accounting considerations of share-based compensation
  • Accounting for income taxes on carve-out financial statements
  • Accounting for income taxes on IFRS and U.S. GAAP conversions.

 

Ms. Summer also supports accounting for income tax matters for local office engagement teams, knowledge sharing of emerging issues, and assists with the development and delivery of firm training and external presentations.

 

She is a frequent speaker at internal KPMG training sessions, external training sessions, and external conferences. Her speaking engagements include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and national, regional, and local Tax Executives Institute events.

 

Ms. Summer is a member of the AICPA and the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is a CPA in Michigan and Washington, D.C.

 

She holds a BS in BA in accounting from the Central Michigan University and an MS degree in taxation from the Grand Valley State University.
