Scot Ferrell

Scot Ferrell is a managing director within Marsh Risk Consulting and serves multiple roles in the west zone as MRC’s geographic leader and as the national industry leader for the Retail/ Wholesale/Food & Beverage industry practice.

Based in San Francisco, Scot leverages his consulting experience and industry knowledge to strategically help organizations address risks and focus on solutions that reduce total cost of risk and mitigate uninsurable risks. 

Scot has 30 years of business related experience in multiple leadership and consulting roles including, business continuity planning, finance, risk management, internal audit, supply chain, crisis management, and disaster recovery.

In this capacity, he has performed consulting activities such as: BCP program assessments, property threat and risk assessments, enterprise risk management program development, benchmarking, process model reviews, supply chain/third party reviews, business impact assessments, strategy development activities, crisis management programs, emergency response plans, BCP plan development, IT disaster recovery plan development, system implementation/training, data center and network reviews, system availability analysis, system/business recovery exercises, plan maintenance, BCP policy development, and employee awareness programs. 

Prior to Scot’s current role, he was the business continuity management consulting practice leader for the west zone. Before joining Marsh, he was the western region business continuity practice leader at Ernst & Young and BCP manager for Gap, Inc. within their Risk Management and Business Continuity Planning group.

Over his 20-year consulting career, Scot has managed and assisted over 600 organizations in the development of their business continuity programs.  Scot has also presented at over 60 conferences and business forums on the topic of risk management and business continuity.
