Until his retirement earlier this year, Ted Timmermans served as the Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer for The Williams Companies Inc., an NYSE-listed company headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Williams is an energy infrastructure company focused on connecting North America’s significant hydrocarbon resource plays to growing markets for natural gas and natural gas products. Its operations handle approximately 30 percent of U.S. natural gas.
Mr. Timmermans’ entire career has been with Williams, having joined the company in 1978. Prior to moving into the Chief Accounting Officer position in 2005, his experience includes roles in the areas of corporate taxation, financial planning and analysis, accounting and auditing. In addition, he served as a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council, which is an advisory extension of the Financial Accounting Standards Board.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Oral Roberts University (1978) and Master of Business Administration and Master of Taxation degrees from the University of Tulsa (1983, 1991). He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Oklahoma.
