Mr. Byrne is the Managing Partner of Byrne Asset Management LLC in Princeton. He has an extensive background in financial markets and securities law. Years ago, he served on the staff of the Brady Task Force, which reported to President Reagan after the 1987 stock market crash and was instrumental in forming the trading halt procedures that would apply in market panics today. He has also served as chairman of the New Jersey State Investment Council, which oversees the investment of about $80 billion in public pension assets. He served for about 15 years as a trustee and treasurer of The Fund for New Jersey, which assists many of the state’s most prominent non-profit entities. He spent nearly four years as chairman of the state Democratic party, and has strong relationships on both sides of the aisle.  Byrne graduated from Princeton University in 1976, served on the graduate advisory board of its School of Public and International Affairs and received his JD from Fordham Law School.
