Jan Hauser, CPA

Jan Hauser is a board member, global finance leader, and retired PwC partner with more than 35 years of experience navigating complex business transactions and strategies. She is on the Board of Directors of Vonage, a global business cloud communications leader, where she is actively contributing her broad business experience and her deep financial expertise. In June 2020, she was appointed Audit Committee Chair for Vonage and recently joined the Nominating and Governance Committee.

She is a seasoned C-suite leader who has partnered with multiple CEOs and CFOs during challenging business conditions. Known for her excellent communication skills and unassailable reputation for integrity, she is a motivating and caring leader who builds strong relationships with teams, C-suite leaders, and board members.

As Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, and Controller at GE from 2013-2018, Ms. Hauser was a strong leader during demanding times. She led a world-class controllership team of more than 3,000 professionals and navigated many strategic, operational and technical challenges. She was deeply involved in multiple mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including GE’s largest acquisition. During her tenure at GE, she developed deep insight into GE’s diverse portfolio of businesses.

Prior to GE, she was a senior consulting Partner in the National Office of PwC. In addition, she led diversity efforts for PwC’s National Office and also served on the U.S. Partner Admissions Committee. She also led the firm’s strategy to enhance thought leadership through a variety of communication channels. Additionally, she served as PwC’s representative on the Financial Accounting Standard Board’s Emerging Issues Task Force and their Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council. From these experiences, she honed the skill of collaborating with others holding multiple viewpoints, influencing strategy and outcomes.

Early in her career, Ms. Hauser was selected for a prestigious fellowship in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the Securities and Exchange Commission. This role allowed her to cultivate a broad network and deep understanding of the financial and regulatory environment.

She is a licensed CPA. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin. She lives in Boston with her husband of more than 25 years, has three sons, and is an avid skier, golfer, and outdoor enthusiast.
