Family John, my husband, a 5-year-old Australian Kelpie and enough nieces and nephews to keep my life full.

If you could spend one hour with someone it would be? A successful woman who has strategically planned their life, step-by-step. For example, Pat Nixon, Hillary Clinton or Anne Sweeney of Disney fame. There are many people who jettison to the spotlight as a happy coincidence. I’m much more interested in people who have orchestrated their success through careful planning.

Favorite Quotes “If you want success, you should strike out on new paths, rather than travel the worn paths of accepted success.” John D. Rockefeller and “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” C.S. Lewis.

Best Advice Received “Do what you love.” And more practically, “Don’t take short cuts with the written word.” I received this advice from my line V.P. circa 1994. At the time, I didn’t think of this as an Earth-shattering statement, but I’ve really adopted the concept to my life as a whole. Since then, I’ve modified it to “Don’t take short cuts with communication.  [pullquote forward=“2”]Clarity of meaning and intent is a critical component of human relationships, whether at work or at home.[/pullquote] Poor communications, either written, spoken or body language, leaves the door open for misinterpretation and adds unnecessary emotional consequences and stress, wastes time, and even ends up costing more money.

Volunteerism NJ Sharing Network - Vice Chair of the Foundation (2009 - present). The pre-eminent foundation supporting organ procurement operations and the Donate Life initiative within North America - Saving Lives through Organ and Tissue Donation. NIFO- Advisory Board Member (2011 - present). NIFO combines the best features and functions of hardware, software and social platforms and puts them into a web operating environment.

Favorite Music I like Classic Rock including Bruce Springsteen, Boston, The Who, Queen, Steppenwolf, Santana, etc. More than just a genre of music, it represents (at least to me) a part of the American culture where through hard work, talent and dedication, a person can be launched into something big and something they love.

Favorite App Google Maps is my most essential and favorite app. It keeps me headed in the right direction and on time. With all the travel I do, I also live by United, Hotel Tonight, Hertz and of course the iPhone passbook app. It lightens your wallet.

Stress Management Exercise is my number-one stress buster. I also find stress relief in giving back through volunteering whenever possible at the NJ Sharing Network. I also enjoy mentoring aspiring young women, whether they are my nieces or summer interns especially if it means someone else can learn from my experiences. Also, my husband John and I recently purchased a home on the Florida Gulf Coast, where we enjoy taking the occasional trip to work on the house and relax with a change of scenery.

Recent Read I have enjoyed reading Erik Larson’s NY Times bestselling In the Garden of Beasts and The Devil in the White City. His style of writing and use of real facts as background material is the perfect mix of fact and fiction. I enjoy politics and the financial markets, and I find his brand of writing keeps your mind working both in the early eighteen and nineteen hundreds while drawing comparisons to today, and at the same time allowing you to escape for a few hours.
