ADP recently announced that its ALINE Card – which allows employees to immediately receive their paychecks on a prepaid card -- is now compatible with Apple Pay, allowing ALINE cardholders to use select Apple mobile devices for in-store and online purchases. This is part of ADP’s effort to continue creating a convenient—and safe—environment for employees to use the ALINE Card.
With the payments industry undergoing consistent innovation and change, ADP has made an effort to try to move employers from paper-based processes to a succinct, streamlined electronic payroll system. And because people are turning to their phones more and more every day, ADP has identified Apple Pay as the next logical step in meeting users’ increasing mobility needs.
Through this collaboration with Apple Pay, ALINE Card users will continue to experience the security and privacy they are used to. Apple Pay does not store actual card numbers on the devices or on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is stored in the Secure Element on a user's device, and, from there, each Apply Pay transaction is approved with a one-time unique dynamic security code.
In addition to the added functionality Apple Pay brings, ALINE cardholders will continue to have immediate access to their checks on payday, as well as the ability to check their balance and manage their account online.
